Lake Tahoe, CA/NV—The March 26 meeting of the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) Governing Board has been rescheduled to Thursday, March 27, at the Chateau located at 955 Fairway Blvd in Incline Village, Nevada, the Agency announced today.
The original date for the meeting coincided with an important court hearing on the Lake Tahoe Regional Plan litigation filed by the Sierra Club and Friends of the West Shore in February, 2013. Moving the TRPA Board meeting will allow Board Members and key staff to attend the hearing.
Oral arguments in the suit are expected to be heard by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California in Sacramento on March 26. Although a decision on the case is not expected in March, the updated Regional Plan is currently in full effect. TRPA is working in partnership with local governments, private property owners, and partner agencies to implement the positive changes made to the regulatory framework of the Tahoe Region, according to the Agency.
The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency leads the cooperative effort to preserve, restore, and enhance the unique natural and human environment of the Lake Tahoe Region, while improving local communities, and people’s interactions with our irreplaceable environment.
