Stateline, NV – Phase 1 of the registration process for property owners with lake moorings ends Sept. 30, 2019. Moorings requiring registration include buoys, boat lifts, and boat slips. Boat lifts or slips within a boathouse are considered a mooring as well.
“We would like to thank those who have already registered existing moorings, and encourage those who haven’t to register by September 30,” said Tiffany Good with TRPA’s Shoreline Program Team. For those who need to register or permit an existing mooring, please visit www.laketahoeinfo.org/moorings to begin the process. Again, the deadline is Sept. 30, 2019.
Moorings eligible for Phase 1 permitting and registration include:
- Those with a prior TRPA permit
- Those with a valid state/federal lease or permit
- Those that can demonstrate existence before 1972
After Sept. 30, 2019 unauthorized moorings may be subject to monetary penalties and/or compliance action.
TRPA’s recently updated shoreline plan creates new programs to ensure shoreline structures and boating activity do not harm the environment, scenery, or recreation experiences at Lake Tahoe.
