This announcement is being initiated as required by the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency/Tahoe Metropolitan Planning Organization Public Participation Plan to provide public notification of changes that have been proposed to the 2021 Federal Transportation Improvement Program (FTIP). The public comment period commences on December 21, 2021 and closes on January 5, 2022. There will be an opportunity for public comment at the scheduled Tahoe Transportation Commission Board meeting January 5, 2022 prior to the close of the comment period.

The proposed changes to the 2021 Federal Transportation Improvement Program are as follows:

New Project: Vacuum/Rodder Truck Air and Water Quality Improvement Project
El Dorado County intends to purchase a Vacuum/Rodder Titan truck for replacement of the current outdated truck. The Titan truck will meet the current air quality standards and compliance with California Air Resources Board (CARB) requirements. The vacuum truck is the primary equipment used to clean and maintain water quality systems and infrastructure needed to capture and filter stormwater and hazardous runoff. The truck will be used in the post‐Caldor Fire recovery. Project cost $500,000.

New Project: US 50 Safety and Hydraulic Improvements
Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) project in Douglas County on US 50, Safety and Hydraulic Improvements: install infiltration basin along Highway 50, .37 miles west of Warrior Way to .22 miles east of Tahoe Drive, and a new signal at the intersection of US 50 and Warrior Way. Project Cost $3,176,000.
