Realtor Workshops Focus on Best Management Practices
Lake Tahoe, Stateline, NV – The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency will host several upcoming workshops for the real estate community to learn more about Best Management Practices (BMPs) and an enhanced BMP disclosure form for real estate transactions.
BMPs reduce impacts of development on Lake Tahoe’s water quality and are required on all developed public and private properties within the Lake Tahoe Region to reduce soil erosion and stormwater runoff.
TRPA requires people selling property to disclose the property’s BMP status to the purchaser prior to sale. The purchaser must submit a BMP disclosure form to TRPA within 30 days of sale. The new BMP disclosure form is more user-friendly and can now be accessed, filled out, and submitted to TRPA electronically. It is available at www.tahoebmp.org.
These upcoming workshops offer an opportunity for real estate professionals to learn more about this new BMP disclosure form as well as other point of sale disclosure requirements and TRPA systems available for people to research property information online. The workshops are anticipated to last 60 to 90 minutes with a presentation by Stormwater Program Manager Shay Navarro and time for questions and answers. They are scheduled for:
· Tuesday, March 31, 10 a.m., Tahoe/Sierra Board of Realtors, 12315 Deerfield Drive, Truckee, California
· Tuesday, April 28, 8 a.m., Nevada Board of Realtors, Parasol Building, 948 Incline Way, Incline Village, Nevada
· Wednesday, May 6, noon, TRPA Offices, 128 Market Street, Stateline, Nevada.
