Stateline, Nevada – Do you know someone who loves Lake Tahoe and strives to protect it every day? Would you like to see their dedication recognized? Now’s your chance.
The 2018 Lake Spirit Awards recognize real people making real progress in conserving Lake Tahoe’s unique natural environment and are now open for nominations. The awards honor those committed to a spirit of cooperation and protecting Lake Tahoe.
TRPA created the Lake Spirit Awards in 2011 to recognize individuals showing exceptional commitment to the Lake Tahoe Basin. The awards expanded the following year to include categories for exemplary citizen and agency representative/environmental scientist. A winner from the North Shore and South Shore will be selected in each category.
The nomination form for the Lake Spirit Awards can be found online at trpa.gov/get-involved/lake-spirit-awards/. Nominations will be accepted through Friday, March 23, 2018. The TRPA Governing Board will recognize Lake Spirit Award winners.
The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency leads the cooperative effort to preserve, restore, and enhance the unique natural and human environment of the Lake Tahoe Region, while improving local communities, and people’s interactions with our irreplaceable environment.
