Incline Village, Nevada – The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency Governing Board on Wednesday recognized retiring North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District Chief Michael D. Brown for his many years of community service and leadership in the Lake Tahoe Basin.
Chief Brown began his fire service career 37 years ago as a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical technician in Lake Almanor, California. He later served with the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, Nevada Emergency Services, and Nevada Division of Forestry.
Brown served 26 years with the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District, working as a firefighter and paramedic, captain, assistant fire chief, and since 2007, as fire chief.
Government Board members adopted a resolution to express their appreciation of Chief Brown and his invaluable contributions to the State of Nevada and the Lake Tahoe Region and for working collaboratively with TRPA in service to the community and the environment.
