(Stateline, NV) – May 13, 2005 – In an effort to help prevent wildfires, Douglas County homeowners will now be able to obtain tree removal permits directly from the Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District thanks to a recent agreement between the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency and the District. The agreement between TRPA and the District streamlines the defensible space inspection process in which the District’s forester will help homeowners identify and remove potential fire threats. By allowing homeowners to obtain the required tree removal permit from the fire district as part of their defensible space inspection, it saves them from having to apply for the permit separately.
